Jeffrey’s birthday party was on Mother’s Day so we had lots of things to accomplish. My boys did surprise me with decorated candles and new sauté pans I really wanted. They love me!
Then it was on to cleaning, decorating and prepping for our afternoon party.
What a perfect day to celebrate National Clean Up Your Room Day – a day for new toys!
Jeffrey’s party was Car Themed… not Cars the movie… just fun and simple cars.
Jack waiting for the fun to begin…
All the kiddos were “cars” for the afternoon. I cut out tree shapes with my Cricut, strung them on ribbon and the little ones colored them with scented markers… their car air fresheners!
Mmm… Orange! Yum!
We handed out glow sticks to put on the kid’s wrists for “headlights.” Then they used their noses to show us their best car horn noises…
Then a fun game of “Whoa Light, Green Light”… my good lookin’ man!
Lined up and ready to go for the first practice round…
And Jack wins! He eceived a prize of Pop Rocks with the warning, “Don’t Pop a tire!”
Sneaking up on Caleb… as they got more familiar with the game they really got into it!
Then Jeffrey started the game of “Pin The Bug on the Windshield.”
Or anywhere on the car…
The prize was a fan – AC for their cars! They really loved them!
And then the grand finale of this party… a car wash before dinner!
Wash wash…
Scrubbing the tires and wheels of these adorable cars…
Jack was a bit distracted by his fan…
Then we made sure to check their “oil” and fill them up… with a little chocolate of course…
Jeffrey wasn’t sure what it was at first but immediately wanted to fill up again when he realized it was chocolate!
Yum?
They also had their fluid levels checked and were given some “anti-freeze”… or blue Kool-Aid to top them off.
For dinner we whipped up a bunch of grilled cheese sandwiches. We had a variety of bread and cheeses to choose from…
Each little one was given a kind of “Happy Meal” with Veggie Straws, apple slices, a Hot Wheels car, and a sandwich to go along with their drink…
We then sang happy birthday and brought out my “completely-made-from-scratch-fresh-strawberry-cake.” This is the flavor Jeffrey wanted – isn’t it cute!? I love how it turned out!
Blowing out his candles… this was not planned … he got in his car all on his own…
Then on to present opening.
Great grandpa made these for the boys – awesome huh?
And this is just a sweet shot of my adorable boys!
In conclusion, it was one great 3rd birthday party! Thanks to a brilliant mom to brainstorm with and my talented sister who took many of these pictures.
This is amazing. Great job.
